Today we’d like to introduce you to Colin Moussa.

Hi Colin, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I didn’t set out to start an agency. Early in my career, I had the opportunity to work on some of Houston’s most recognizable destinations, including The Galleria and the launch of River Oaks District. Those experiences sparked a fascination with how thoughtful branding, communications, and storytelling can shape the way people experience a place. I realized I was less interested in simply marketing a project and more interested in uncovering what made it unique and finding the best way to tell that story. That mindset eventually led me to start COMO Creatives.

Today, COMO is a strategic communications, public relations, branding, and marketing agency that partners with commercial real estate developers, mixed-use destinations, hospitality brands, and growing businesses. We help clients uncover what makes them different, then bring that story to life through strategic communications, creative marketing, and thoughtful execution. One of our core beliefs is to think beyond the brief, because the strongest ideas rarely come from simply checking boxes. They come from asking better questions. Looking back, it’s been incredibly rewarding to help launch new developments, reposition historic buildings, support neighborhood districts, and work alongside organizations that are shaping Houston and communities across the country.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I think that’s part of building any business. This year marks COMO Creatives’ 10th anniversary, and one of the biggest challenges in the early days was helping clients see that marketing wasn’t just about promoting a project once it was complete. At the time, many commercial real estate developments didn’t face the same level of competition they do today, and the idea of creating a brand, building a community, and giving people something to connect with before a project opened was still relatively new.

Over the last decade, that mindset has changed dramatically. Developers have realized that people don’t just visit places because they’re new. They visit because they feel connected to them. Whether it’s a mixed-use destination, a neighborhood, a hotel, or an office building, people are drawn to places with a story and a distinct identity.

It’s been incredibly rewarding to watch that evolution because it’s exactly what COMO was founded to do. We’ve always believed that successful places are more than buildings. They’re brands, communities, and experiences. Helping clients uncover that identity and bring it to life through thoughtful communications and storytelling is still the most rewarding part of what we do.

We’ve been impressed with COMO Creatives, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At COMO Creatives, we believe the strongest brands aren’t built by simply checking boxes. They’re built by uncovering what makes a business, destination, or organization genuinely different and telling that story in a way that people remember.

We’re a strategic communications, public relations, branding, and marketing agency based in Houston. Over the past decade, we’ve partnered with commercial real estate developers, mixed-use destinations, hospitality brands, neighborhood districts, and growing businesses to build brands that create meaningful connections with the people they serve.

Our work spans everything from brand strategy and messaging to public relations, social media, websites, photography, video production, executive communications, and creative campaigns. Whether we’re helping launch a new mixed-use district, reposition a historic building, or tell the story of a growing company, our goal is always the same: create work that feels authentic and moves people to action.

What I’m most proud of isn’t a single project. It’s the relationships we’ve built along the way. Many of our clients have been with us for years because we don’t see ourselves as an outside agency. We become an extension of their team, asking thoughtful questions, bringing fresh ideas to the table, and often thinking beyond the original brief to uncover opportunities others might miss.

As we celebrate 10 years of COMO Creatives, that philosophy hasn’t changed. We still believe that great marketing starts with understanding people, great communications start with authenticity, and the best brands are built through meaningful stories that stand the test of time.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
One of the things I love most about Houston is that it’s a city of neighborhoods, each with its own personality and story. You can spend the morning in the Museum District, have lunch in Uptown, catch a game downtown, and end the evening exploring EaDo or the Heights. Every part of the city feels a little different, and that’s what makes Houston so exciting. It’s incredibly diverse, and that diversity is reflected in one of the best food scenes in the country. Every neighborhood has its own local favorites and hidden gems that help bring those communities to life. Houston is entrepreneurial, constantly evolving, and always gives you a reason to explore somewhere new.

If I could change one thing, I’d love to see Houston become a more connected city. We’ve made incredible progress creating walkable districts and vibrant public spaces, but there’s still an opportunity to better connect those destinations through enhanced public transportation, trails, and pedestrian-friendly streets. The easier it is for people to move throughout the city and experience different neighborhoods, the stronger our communities become. As someone who spends a lot of time helping shape places and tell their stories, I think that’s one of Houston’s greatest opportunities.
